Other high-profile art-house titles confirmed for the Limelight sidebar include Ruben Ostlund‘s Force Majeure, Jessica Hausner‘s Amour Fou, Phoenix from Christian Petzold, Alice Rohrwacher‘s The Wonders and Timbuktu from Abderrahmane Sissako.
Unlike Rotterdam’s main competition program, which only includes films from first- and second-time directors, the Limelight section is meant to highlight new works by established art-house filmmakers and celebrate recent success stories.
All the Limelight films will be released theatrically in Dutch cinemas after their festival screening.
The 44th Rotterdam international film festival runs Jan. 21-Feb. 1.
