Is Iggy Azalea a BBQ master? Because the lady loves a side of beef. The night before officially kicking off her footwear collection with Steve Madden, Azalea took to Twitter to blast the shoe designer as “disgusting” — before apologizing on Instagram shortly thereafter and giving her blessing to the campaign images seen below.

Prior to her Twitter meltdown, Azalea praised Madden in an interview with PEOPLE, saying “Steve Madden was amazingly helpful in translating my vision into reality.” The two collaborated on some very Azalea-approved items (iridescent sneakers, flatform mules, Neoprene stilettos) to be released this spring. Said Madden of their decision to work together, “We met at a Steve Madden Music event we did with her last summer. We hit it off immediately, and by the end of the night we were asking ourselves, ‘How can we not do this?'”

Azalea — whose first pair of Steve Maddens was “a white leather gladiator heel. The heels were made of wood. Kind of awesome, kind of gross!” — embraced the challenge of her first time designing shoes. “It was my first time designing an actual item,” she said. “In terms of the content surrounding the actual product, the process itself was very similar to that of designing an album or music video, so it didn’t feel all that foreign. It’s just that the content is a shoe instead of music.”

Things went momentarily sour this week when a Tumblr leaked images from the campaign that Azalea had apparently not approved (read the full transcription of her since-deleted Tweets here), but by Thursday night she was all sweetness, light and emoji hearts.

“I absolutely LOVE these images, they are from the shoot I directed for my Steve Madden campaign. I’m incredibly proud of the shoes we’ve made together, as well as these images that I’ve been anxiously waiting to share with you all,” she wrote on Instagram. “What I had a ‘rant’ about on Twitter isn’t in regards to these pictures, it was about another, different set of images I wasn’t a part of creating that I felt weren’t reflective of my vision and direction for the collection. I’m an artist and I’m extremely passionate and emotional and crazy sometimes because I care ALOoOoot about this s–t! I love Steve and he gets it!”

Madden does seem to “get” where his superstar shoe designing collaborator is coming from. In the interview, he said girls would respond to Azalea’s more advanced designs because “Iggy loves that look, and she’s a style icon. Girls everywhere want to dress like Iggy.”

They should be so lucky to have her shoe collection, too. The rapper said the oldest shoes of the 100 pairs in her closet is just a year old (“I throw out shoes all the time”), which means she’s learned the secret to making super-high shoes work on the red carpet. “Red carpet shoes you only wear for five minutes, so they luckily never have the chance to become all that painful,” she said. “If that’s considered a secret, then there you have it!”
