The Expo takes place Nov. 2-3 at L.A. Live in Downtown Los Angeles.
The Hollywood Reporter has been chosen to partner on the U.S. China Film & TV Industry’s (UCFTI) third annual Expo.
THR joins the Motion Picture Association (MPA) and China Film Co-Production Corp as partners for the event, which will take place Nov. 2-3 at L.A. Live in Downtown Los Angeles and allows industry leaders from the world’s two biggest film and television markets meet to foster closer business and cultural links.
Last year’s Expo saw speeches from top executives from companies like Oriental Dreamworks, China Media Capital, Fosun Pictures and Warner Bros. along with panels from the Producers Guild of America (PGA) and the Writers Guild of America (WGA).
The Hollywood Reporter and Billboard‘s entertainment group president John Amato said: “The UCFTI Expo is emblematic of the blending between the U.S. and Chinese film and television industries. We are excited to help bring together industry leaders from the two giants of entertainment, facilitating the mutually beneficial deals that will reach across borders and shape our entertainment for years to come.”
UCFTI Expo CEO Bianca Chen added, “We are thrilled to have helped open the door for these important relationships and connections taking place between the U.S. and China. In partnership with The Hollywood Reporter, the MPA and the China Film Co-Production Corp., we are confident that this year’s Expo will build even stronger bonds between the two industries as companies adjust to the evolving consumption patterns of today’s viewership.”
The opening night gala at Club Nokia on Nov. 2 will feature the presentation of the UCFTI Co-Production Award. Hosted by the MPA and China Film Co-Production Co., the award honors individuals and companies for excellence in co-productions and international relations.
