Apparently, Lady Gaga‘s burgeoning friendship with Kate Hudson after their brief hang on the Met Gala red carpet is already starting to influence the pop star’s sense of style. Or perhaps her run-in with the actress simply inspired her to re-watch the classic film Almost Famous, but in either case, Gaga clearly stole some inspiration from Hudson’s aesthetic, stepping out this weekend looking more than a little like the film’s leading lady, Penny Lane.

Gaga has always channeled a certain rocker chic vibe with her ripped up fishnets, vintage band tees and penchant for all things Saint Laurent. As Penny Lane would say, “it’s all happening” for the pop star in her pared down new look consisting of a fitted, burgundy V-neck tee tucked into printed bell bottom pants and topped off with a big, furry white coat, aviators and a wide-brim hat. But while Gaga may look cool enough to hang with the band, don’t ever make the mistake of calling her a groupie.
