Now that we’ve seen all the glamorous (and polarizing!) looks hit the Grammys red carpet, we’ve narrowed down our top picks below. (Don’t see your favorite? Be sure to share your thoughts in the comments!)
Mary Beth Quirk, Contributor: Though I have my doubts about the hybrid mini skirt/floor-length gown trend in general, the jewel bright ombre colors of Taylor Swift’s custom Elie Saab halter dress bring out the blazing blue of her eyes. By the time I get to the pop of fuchsia in her shoes, I’m fully onboard. With this dress the haters are probably gonna hate (hate, hate, hate, hate), but T-Swift’s probably not gonna care.

Andrea Lavinthal, Style and Beauty Director: When it come to the Grammys, our style expectations are a little different from all the other awards shows. For starters, we know we’re going to see skin. Like, a lot of it. And we know that some of the dresses will borderline on costume-y. But that’s what makes the red carpet so fun and that’s why I love Ciara’s Alexandre Vauthier design. Is it a little crazy? Yes! Is the skirt about two inches too short in the front and the train about a foot too long in the back? Yes and yes! But I’m still digging the Black Swan vibe of the layers, the dramatic one shoulder and the gold belt. Plus, the styling — her slicked-back hair and sky-high black pumps — is super sexy.
Brittany Talarico, Style News Editor: Most readers seemed to side with Alex in our Kim dress debate, but I’m standing by the star. She’s the perfect example of Grammys glamour, from the gold, sequin Jean Paul Gaultier gown to her smoky eye and that new sexy, just-rolled-out-of-bed bob. But perhaps the person I should be praising is Kanye West, who picked this dress out for his wife.

Alex Apatoff, Senior Style Editor: All of Miranda Lambert’s outfit changes got my seal of approval, but my top honors went to the first one she debuted on the red carpet — a deceptively simple black Gabriela Cadena gown with a few eye-popping details, like cutouts and fuchsia straps. Great lipstick, a tousled bob and a kicky Kotur clutch gave the whole look some memorable finishing touches — but it was her kickass confidence that really made the entire outfit the best of the night.
Sarah Kinonen, Editorial Assistant: While everyone tends to go a bit crazy for the Grammy Awards, there’s one star who seemed to tone it down for the night: Miley Cyrus. Dressed in an all-black intricately cut-out Alexandre Vauthier Haute Couture gown, the singer looked fresh and impeccably chic wearing minimal makeup and a sleek brushed-back do. I definitely don’t think this was the most innocent look of the night, but compared to her previous pasty ensembles, I think this was an elegant choice for the star.

Jackie Fields, Beauty Writer: She don’t pop on corsets, cut-outs, gold robes, pink poufs, ruffles, fur, tracksuits or jumpsuits. She rocks Tom Ford.
