What tragic news.
Brittany Maynard, a beautiful and courageous woman who suffered from terminal brain cancer, sadly ended her life Saturday at the young age of 29.
Despite Brittany's recent blog post that suggested she planned to postpone ending her life on November 1st, it appears the death with dignity advocate decided it was the right time to put an end to her suffering.

In her final blog post, Maynard, penned:
“Goodbye to all my dear friends and family that I love. Today is the day I have chosen to pass away with dignity in the face of my terminal illness, this terrible brain cancer that has taken so much from me but would have taken so much more. The world is a beautiful place, travel has been my greatest teacher, my close friends and folks are the greatest givers. I even have a ring of support around my bed as I type … Goodbye world. Spread good energy. Pay it forward!”
Wow. Maynard's ability to stay positive moments before her death is beyond moving. We have no doubt that her gorgeous life and activism will leave a profound mark on the world.
We send our condolences to Brittany's husband, Dan Diaz, her mother, Debbie Ziegler, and her stepfather, Gary Holmes.
